ABOUT THIS ITEM
This is an elegant late Qing dynasty Chinese drum-form barrel stool made of precious hongmu - a type of rosewood. Suitable for use as either stools or side tables, the pierced ribs curve slightly outward, accentuating the overall roundness of the form, while the solid floating panel of the seat plays against the generous open space. A series of bosses to the top edge reinforce the drum motif. The wood overall displays a beautiful, rich grain and attractive patina. Ideal thanks to its versatile quality, this Chinese lacquered stool will bring a touch of exotic elegance to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or hallway. This drum stool will make for an excellent drinks table, piano bench or plant stand.
