Can I see the products?

Can I visit your store?

Our Finsbury Park store is temporarily closed.

Are all the products second hand?

No, we sell both new and used goods. Please visit https://brightsparksonline.com/pages/rss to view all the standard items and the upgrade options.

Can I transfer money from one item to another?

No.  Islington council does not allow us to move money from one item to another.  If you no longer want an item on the list, you do not need to order that item and islington council does not get invoiced for the item.


Who pays for my items to be delivered?

The delivery cost is covered by the Islington Council. However, if we attend the site at the agreed date/time and no one is present.  You will have to pay £15 for us to come out and deliver your item.  This will need to be paid by Electronic Transfer before we attempt a second delivery?


I’ve missed a delivery, can I pay the delivery charge of £15 to the driver when they bring my items?

No, our drivers do not handle money.


When will I get my items?

Once you’ve placed your order with our customer service team we aim to get your item to you within 10 days


I need a product that’s not on my award letter, what can I do?

We can only give you what’s on your award letter.  If you need something else or want to swap anything over you will need to go back to Islington council to get a new award letter issued and we will happily comply.


I’ve seen used items on your website, I would prefer, to the new item I have been awarded.  Can I get that instead?

Yes you can.  Islington council are happy to make the following contribution towards used items


Wardrobe - £30

Chest of Drawers - £30

2 Seater Sofa - £70

3 Seater Sofa - £110


E.g 1

You have been awarded a 3 seater sofa with a value of £215 but you’ve seen a used sofa on our website for £150 that you would like instead of the standard sofa awarded.  Islington council will only contribute £110 towards a used 3 seater sofa, so you will have to pay £40 to cover the £150 cost of the sofa.  Because you have only used £110 of the £215 awarded to you, you still have £105 available for you to spend on other used items on our website.  You can select any used items on our website up to a total value of £105 (e.g chairs, bedside units, TV Stands, coffee tables, chest of drawers, mirrors etc…) and they will all be added to your order and delivered at the same time.


E.g 2

You have been awarded a 2 seater sofa with a value of £160 but you’ve seen a used sofa on our website for £60 that you would like that one, instead of the standard 2 seater sofa awarded.  Islington council will only contribute £70 towards a used 2 seater sofa.  Because you have been awarded £160 but the sofa you have chosen only comes to £60, you can use the remaining £100 on other used items on our website (e.g chairs, bedside units, mirrors, TV stands, coffee tables, chest of drawers, bric-a-brac etc…) and they will all be added to your order and delivered at the same time.

Can I upgrade the item I have been awarded?

Yes you can.  Please visit https://brightsparksonline.com/pages/rss to see the list of items you can upgrade to.  These are the only items you can upgrade to.  If it’s not listed on there you cannot upgrade to it.

E.g

You have been awarded a standard double mattress (£106.50) and you want to upgrade to a double orthopedic mattress (£150) instead.  To upgrade, you will need to pay us the additional £43.50.  Once we’ve received your payment, we can order your orthopedic mattress ready for your agreed delivery date.


Can I choose some items now, have them delivered then come back later and choose the rest of my items and have them delivered?

No.  Only one transaction is allowed per award


Who does the installations?

We will deliver and install all the items for you.  If you have a gas cooker, the installation will be carried out by a 3rd party Gas Safe installer who will call you within 24 hours of your gas cooker being delivered to arrange installation.

On arrival there must be clear space for the item to be installed.  We will not disconnect old items.

Will you take the old items away?

We can collect the following items when doing a delivery all at the driver’s discretion.

  • Washing Machines (emptied & disconnected)
  • Gas Cooker (disconnected)
  • Electric Cooker (disconnected)
  • Old furniture in re-usable condition (NOT mattresses)

We will NOT take away old fridge or freezers.  Please contact the council.
