About Us

Bright Sparks is a Re-use and Repair project

Bright Sparks Re-use & Repair, is run by DigiBridge CIC, a not for profit social enterprise, limited by guarantee with charitable objectives.  We work with local authorities and social landlords in North and East London to divert reusable second hand furniture and other household items (white goods, small electricals, bric-a-brac and crockery) from landfill. Through this activity we provide jobs for local people, volunteering opportunities for individuals looking to get back into work and purposeful activities for socially excluded individuals.  All the reusable items are cleaned, tested, repaired if needed and distributed to local people through our outlets (Islington – 176 Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, N7 7PX : Waltham Forest – 842-844 High Road Leyton, E10 6AE : Newham – Reclaim At The Lane, 122 – 162 Cranberry Lane, Canning Town, E16 4PE)

PAT Testing

Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the term used to describe the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing.

Each of our PAT testers have the right level of knowledge and experience to carry out the visual as well as the formal testing. Each item goes through a formal checklist during the testing process and our testers all have:

  • The right equipment to do the tests
  • The ability to use this test equipment properly
  • The ability to properly understand the test results
